Miami Heat NBA 2015 news: Carlos Boozer, Lou Williams become new targets

It remains to be seen what the future hold for the Miami Heat who could be entering the 2015-16 NBA season without Dwyane Wade.

Wade is reportedly unhappy at the way the team has been handling contract negotiations and the long-time Heat guard has made it known that he would be listening to other teams in the offseason.

Wade seems to have had enough of being underpaid and wants to be paid in the proper amount he is entitled to.

With that in the air, the Heat may need to look for other players to fill in the impending departure of Wade and two names have come up – Lou Williams and possibly Carlos Boozer.

Williams came off the bench for the Toronto Raptors last season and word has it that he could be reaching out to the Heat. If Wade leaves, it could open a possible slot for Williams who perhaps had his best years as a member of the Philadelphia 76ers and the Atlanta Hawks.

Williams, 28, may not exactly be in the same caliber as Wade but he can contribute and fill in the slack to some capacity. But of course it would depend on how much the guard's expected salary would be.

On the other end, Carlos Boozer could be another option. Boozer's numbers have suffered a large drop ever since his Utah Jazz days though he still has the experience and talent to be helpful to any team.

Boozer last played for the Los Angeles Lakers and was hardly a factor. The Lakers picked up Boozer from the Chicago Bulls and chances are the Lakers will not be re-signing the 33 year-old power forward for next season.

Like Williams, it would depend on how much Boozer would be asking from the Heat if ever.

The Heat don't exactly have the luxury of spending due to salary cap restraints so hooking up both or either Boozer and Williams will largely depend on their salaries.

Then there is also the matter of available talent that the Heat can get their hands on during NBA Free Agency in July, a lot of names which are expected to be available.
