Miami Heat NBA 2015 trade news: Carlos Boozer, Lou Williams interested

The Miami Heat experienced last season how hard it is to remain playoff contenders following the departure of LeBron James as he returned to the Cleveland Cavaliers but now they are looking towards free agency and reportedly Los Angeles Lakers forward Carlos Boozer and Toronto Raptors point guard Lou Williams are interested in taking their talents to South Beach.

Boozer was acquired on waivers last season from the Chicago Bulls and played in 71 games during the regular season.

The 34-year-old was averaging 11.8 points, 6.8 rebounds and 1.3 assists per game for Los Angeles during the 2014-15 season.

Barry Jackson of the Miami Herald reported that an associate of Boozer said that he would not be surprised if the two-time NBA All-Star joins the Heat next season.

But according to Jackson the Heat signing Boozer, who spends a lot of time in Miami, will only make sense if one of big men Josh McRoberts or Udonis Haslem is traded to other teams.

Boozer was unable to fully flourish with the Lakers last season as they finished at 21-61 last season, the worst regular season record in franchise history.

Meanwhile, Jackson also reported that Raptors backup point guard Williams will likely be reaching out to the Heat this free agency.

But Miami could only afford to add Williams if two of Dwyane Wade, Gordan Dragic or Luol Deng are dealt to other teams, Jackson added.

Williams starred for the Raptors last season coming off the bench and was named the NBA Sixth Man of the Year.

The 28-year-old was averaging 15.5 points, 1.9 rebounds, 2.1 assists and 1.1 steals last season in his first year with Toronto.

Unfortunately, the Raptors were eliminated in the first round of the playoffs for the second consecutive year last season.

Boozer and Williams will be able to contribute to a struggling Heat squad who is trying to find its identity after James led them to two championships and left before last season.
