Miami Heat franchise star guard Dwyane Wade has tied Bernard King for the 42nd spot on the National Basketball Association's (NBA) all-time scoring list after Sunday's 105–87 win over the Atlanta Hawks.

Wade scored 17 points in the game versus Atlanta to have a career-total 19,655 points and even King.

"I don't celebrate it, but it all matters in the long run," Wade stated according to ESPN following the win which was their fourth consecutive.

"It's all great, it's all cool. For me, when I got to top 50 all time in scoring ... there's been a lot of players that played this game," the two-time champion added.

Being a native of Chicago, the 34-year-old guard also said, "A Chicago guy doing good things, I guess. That's how I look at it. I just feel like the city is proud anytime my name is mentioned with Chicago behind it. It just helps shine some good light on our city."

ESPN added in the report that when Wade entered the 2015–16 NBA season, he was 54th on the list and if he continues to remain healthy, he may be on the top 40 once the season ends.

Currently, Wade is averaging 18.7 points, 4.1 rebounds, 4.8 assists, and one steal in 30.3 minutes of action per outing in 45 games played in the regular season.

The three-time National Basketball Association (NBA) champion and 12-time All-Star is the second-leading scorer for Miami this season behind forward Chris Bosh's 19.2 points per game.

Miami's current winning streak helped the team capture the fourth spot in the tight Eastern Conference standings with a 27–21 record.

The Heat's streak include wins over the Chicago Bulls, Brooklyn Nets, Milwaukee Bucks, and the Atlanta Hawks.

Wade and the Heat will look to extend the streak to five games when they begin a road trip and visit the Houston Rockets at the Toyota Center this Tuesday.
