Miami Heat rumors: Brook Lopez going to Miami Heat?

As things heat up for the Brookly Nets as far as the fate of the franchise is concerned, their key stars are slowly being offered to the market. We all know that Deron Williams and Joe Johnson have been placed on the block but it looks like Brook Lopez is the player gaining a lot of interest, especially from the Miami Heat.

Of the three, it looks like Brook Lopez will be player most likely to be shipped. But for the Heat to get their hands on Lopez, it means having to clear some cap space, something that they don't really have the luxury at the moment.

Lopez could be a great addition, especially in the middle for the Heat. But would Miami be willing to part ways with Luol Deng and/or perhaps Josh McRoberts? The two were prized acquisitions in the offseason but as things stand now, the Heat will have to move to take in players they actually need.

Lopez holds current season averages of 14.7 points and 6.4 rebounds in 28 games. If successful, the move will be Lopez' first major one since the 25 year old big man has spend all of his seven seasons in Brooklyn. Lopez is pegged to receive $16.7 million next year and will be a free agent come 2016.

The easiest way to resolve the Heat's manpower needs is to trade Deng and McRoberts for Lopez. While that would be feasible and resolve Miami's problems somewhat, it becomes a new problem for the Nets.

The Nets are currently up for sale and should Deng and McRoberts end up there, they could be moved once more or kept, depending on who the new owners would be. At this time, there have been no takers in mention.
