Formula One icon Michael Schumacher continues to recover from brain injuries and physical damages he suffered in a skiing accident back in December 2013; still, the former racing champion is one of the richest people in Switzerland. 

The news, which was first reported a few days back, is a bit surprising since Schumacher is no longer racing and the vast medical attention he is getting is causing the family a fortune. 

An earlier report mentioned that Schumacher's wife, Corinna, already sold his husband's jet and their holiday home, saying that the former racing champion can no longer enjoy these luxuries because of his condition. 

Reports also stated that along with around 15 doctors monitoring Schumacher, he is also using medical equipment mainly for his healing. 

The reported cost for all of these is staggering; still, the 47-year-old former racing car champion is one of the wealthiest in Switzerland, having around $700–$800 million worth of property. 

Other prominent racing figures who were on the list are Mercedes F1 team principal Toto Wolff and Ferrari drivers Kimi Raikkonen and Sebastian Vettel. 

It is unknown what the real condition of Schumacher is as of the moment, since his family wants to keep everything confidential and are not keen on giving updates to the media now and then. 

The most significant news regarding Schumacher's health was when he was discharged from the hospital in September 2014 to continue his recovery in the comfort of his own home. 

Only family, relatives, and close friends have visited and are with Schumacher through these tough times. 

Reports said that the progress of healing for the seven-time Formula One Champion is slow, despite all the medical efforts he is going through in more than two years since the incident happened. 

Nonetheless, Schumacher's manager, Sabine Kehm, already said before that there is improvement seen in Schumacher's health condition.
