The family of Michael Schumacher continues to seek for their privacy as the seven-time Formula 1 race car driver recuperates after his tragic skiing accident in 2013.

According to reports, the family opted not to divulge more information about Schumacher's health condition because they do not want to cause further concern for his fans.

Schumacher suffered from a near fatal accident during a skiing holiday with his family in the French Alps in December 2013. Reports about the accident mentioned that he was with his son Mick when he fell and hit his head on a rock.

The legendary race car driver was initially put into a medically induced coma after sustaining a traumatic brain injury. Then he was later withdrawn from the medically induced coma after he showed slow signs of progress.

In June 2014, Schumacher regained his consciousness, and his family decided to transfer him to a hospital in Lausanne, Switzerland for further treatment. In September of the same year, the family moved him back to their home to continue his recovery with a full medical team.

While details about his health remained scarce, the popular Formula 1 racer once again made the news in September 2016 after his lawyer Felix Damm filed a case against the German publication called Die Bunte after it falsely reported that Schumacher can start walking a couple of steps with the help of his therapist.

According to Damm, Schumacher remains unable to walk, whether he is assisted or not. The lawsuit was filed to prevent fans from having false hopes about his present condition.

Meanwhile, Schumacher's first sponsor Gerd Krämer told Daily Star that it would take a miracle before his health could go back to normal.

"He is in a more than difficult situation, and it would take a miracle to see him in public again," Krämer stated. However, fans continue praying for Schumacher's recovery.
