Former Ferrari chairman Luca di Montezemolo recently provided an update on the condition of racing hero Michael Schumacher as he recovers from his skiing accident in the French Alps back in 2014.

"I'm very pleased to know that he is reacting," Di Montezemolo told "The Circuit" on CNN. It is unclear what he meant by this, but it sounded like the seven-time Formula One champion has taken a baby step to recovery.

That makes sense especially when you compare this new statement to his statement back in February, where he said that his news about Schumacher's health condition is "not good." His remark seems to indicate that the racer has made progress, albeit little.

Di Montezemolo added that Schumacher's strength, which the racing legend has shown time and again when he drove his heart out on the track, will also help him get back on his feet.

"I know how strong he is. I'm sure that thanks to his determination – which will be crucial – he will come out from this very, very difficult situation ... And I really hope," the Italian magnate went on to say.

Di Montezemolo has seen first-hand Schumacher's determination and talent as he was the Ferrari president when the renowned racer snagged five titles within two years.

The Italian also remembered Schumacher's legacy, going so far as to dubbing him "the most important driver in Ferrari history" among the "many of the best drivers in the world."

Schumacher's fans and friends continue to send big love to the racing hero and to his family as he goes on with the treatment in his mansion in Switzerland, where he is surrounded and taken care of by people dearest to him.

Previous reports have indicated that the road to recuperation will be bumpy and winding, but loyal supporters of the F1 icon always renew their hope and support for Schumacher.

Fans haven't forgotten about the racing hero yet. Federation Internationale de l'Automobile (FIA) president Jean Todt recalled how "very talented, very hard-working and humble" Schumacher is.

Fans have also kept alive the "Keep Fighting Michael" hashtag on Twitter including Spanish F1 driver Pedro de la Rosa.
