One of the key persons that helped Formula One icon Michael Schumacher achieve success, former Benetton and Ferrari technical director Ross Brawn, is still optimistic regarding the seven-time champion's condition. 

Schumacher is fighting for his life after a skiing incident in December 2013 and health updates about the racing legend's condition have been scarce. 

The family of Schumacher decided to keep his road to healing confidential, with wife Corinna even suing three publications earlier this year for falsifying information regarding his recovery. 

Now, in a report by the Daily Express, Brawn shared the positivity he has for Schumacher, also saying that there is hope.

"I do keep in touch [with Schumacher's family], but we try and keep a balance of going to see him against calling, and not being a pain. I've been to see him a few times; Corinna, his wife, calls me occasionally and keeps me updated," Brawn said, according to the report. 

"We just keep praying every day that he'll recover to a stage where...it's slow, but there's always hope," he also stated. 

Brawn has been with Schumacher in the majority of those successful racing years in Formula One. 

The two have worked with each other in Benetton where Schumacher won his first two championships before both of them transferred to Ferrari to win five more. 

In total, Schumacher have won seven world championships, also winning 91 races which is a Formula One record. 

Along with Brawn, one of Schumacher's greatest rivals in two-time world champion Mika Häkkinen is also hoping for the best. 

In his blog post last August, Häkkinen said Schumacher may no longer be able to do the things he used to but miracles happen and he is hoping one will occur to his former racing foe.

Häkkinen also told Schumacher to keep fighting, even citing the former Ferrari star's aggressiveness which won him seven world championships.
