Racing legend Michael Schumacher's daughter Gina-Maria gave a touching tribute to her father who is currently in a coma.

The 20-year-old Gina-Maria received a trophy for her achievements in Western-style horse riding at the distinguished Audi Generation Awards in Munich, Germany. In her speech to the crowd, she acknowledged her father and her mother Corinna's love and support for her. She expressed, "I would like to thank the jury, but especially my parents for the love they give me every day."

She fondly recalled going go-karting with her dad when they were younger. Michael wanted her daughter to get into the racing sport as he did, but Gina-Maria soon realized that horses were better. She decided to choose this career path instead.

Michael got into an accident in 2013 when he suffered a devastating ski crash in the French Alps. The incident left him in a coma after suffering serious head injuries. The seven-time Championship winner was inducted into the Hall of Fame earlier this month. His former Ferrari boss Jean Todt said that his absence was felt by everyone at the ceremony in Paris. Moreover, he expressed hope about Michael's condition and said that he was "still fighting" even after four years. Michael's trusted manager, Sabine Kehm, collected the award on his behalf.

"I'm happy to have Sabine here, to run the family business. I wanted [his son] Mick to come tonight but he's doing some testing in Spain and [his wife] Corinna is in the States. A fight is going on. Michael is someone very special, someone special for motorsport. He's special to me, he's a friend," Todt shared with the audience.

Michael is currently receiving treatment in Switzerland, but details about his condition have been kept tightly-guarded since his accident. Stay tuned for more reports as the situation unfolds.
