As previously reported here on Christian Today, Michael Schumacher's manager Sabine Kehm defended the family's choice for a media blackout when she explained how the legendary racer kept his public life and private life separate. His son Mick, however, is now in the limelight. During a recent Formula 4 race, the promising young racer fractured his right hand. 

Mick Schumacher, 16, started at the sixtheenth position for the Formula 4 race at the Red Bull Ring in Austria. While racing he was hit from behind by racer Thomas Priening and Mick's vehicle spun out of control before it slammed front-first into a wall. 

The vehicle suffered major damages and lost both front and rear wings and the younger Schumacher broke his right hand. The rest of the race was called off after the crash. Schumacher landed the tenth spot before the crash while Thomas Priening was given a 30-second penalty. 

According to a report from Express, the injury was an "uncomplicated fracture," which means the young Schumacher may race again very soon.

When interviewed after the race, he commented, "I'm okay. It's a shame my race had to end so early." 

Mick previously made the headlines when he was competing in go-kart divisions and only this year did he switch over to the single seat racing circuit. At Formula 4, he is still a few classes below Formula 1 which is the division where his father became famous for being the only person to win the World Championships seven times. 

Michael Schumacher, 46, suffered from severe head injuries while skiing at the French Alps in December 2013. He was placed in a medically-induced coma of which he woke up from in June 2014. He was later transfered to the family home in September where he continues to slowly recover and has "limited awareness" although he is still unable to talk or walk.
