Despite the silence of Michael Schumacher's family about the world-renowned racer's health condition, fans and friends continue to show their love and support in various ways and forms for the seven-time Formula One World Champion.

A slew of F1 stars recently got together for a football match to pay homage to Schumacher. Dubbed as the Champions for Charity, the match featured among others the racing champ's 17-year-old son Mick Schumacher.

Daniel Ricciardo, Fernando Alonso, Nico Rosberg and Sebastian Vettel were also part of the action along with Felipe Massa, Mika Hakkinen, Nico Hulkenberg, Pascal Wehrlein, Timo Glock, David Coulthard and Christian Vietoris.

On the other team are sports champs such as Dirk Nowitzki, Arne Friedrich, Lukas Podolski, Miroslav Klose, Sebastian Kehl, Stefan Reinartz and Simon Rolfes.

Schumacher met a skiing accident almost three years ago at the French Alps that put him in a medically-induced coma for three months.

He is currently recuperating at his home where he is reportedly being attended to by a large group of doctors. The treatment for Schumacher has allegedly led the family to struggle financially with $140,000 purportedly shelled out every week.

Schumacher's family has requested a media blackout as the racer recovers, something that turns out the legend actually wanted for himself, according to his manager Sabine Kehm.

"Once in a long discussion Michael said to me: 'You don't need to call me for the next year, I'm disappearing," Kehm said early last year.

"I think it was his secret dream to be able to do that some day. That's why now I still want to protect his wishes in that I don't let anything get out," she went on to say.

Friends and fans of Schumacher continue to hope and pray for his recovery. Ferrari boss Luca di Montezemolo, who the racer worked with in the past, said early this yeat that Schumacher's determination will get him through.
