Microsoft has experienced impressive sales on its Surface tablets and according to the latest report, the sales doubled in the company's fourth fiscal quarter and increased by 65 percent for the year.

It's quite undeniable that every new version of Surface Pro will always be better than the last. For this reason and the fact that sales are doing good, it's only appropriate that speculations for a Surface Pro 4 start to circulate.

According to the latest speculations, Surface Pro 4 will be Microsoft's next big thing and it will reportedly arrive in October this year, according to a blog post from Windows enthusiast Paul Thurrott. The new tablet is also rumored to carry a Windows 10 operating system (OS).

In a report from Venture Capital Post, it was speculated that the new Surface Pro tablet will have the same display size as that of Surface Pro 3 and will also sport the bevel form from its predecessor.

It is expected that the upcoming Surface Pro 4 will pack on several features that will make it far more superior than other tablets available in the market.

It was also speculated that the new tablet will be available in two sizes: 12 and 14 inches, reported BGR. The device is also believed to run on either an Intel Core i5 or Core i7 processor. For the RAM, the device should have at least 16MB.

When talking about the price, it is believed that Pro 4 will cost almost the same as the previous versions. Since it is expected to be a high-end device, cutting down its price will not be practical.

Crossmap also reported that the Surface Pro 4 will be an "enhanced version" of Surface Pro 3, but the former will be capable of Long-Term Evolution (LTE) connectivity.

Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will surely be a rival to Apple's upcoming iPad Pro, which, according to reports, will have a stylus used for digital inking.

As always, these are all speculations and a formal announcement from Microsoft should silence them all. Fans will just have to wait to see if the new Surface Pro 4 would be really competing head to head with the iPad Pro.
