Microsoft Lumia 635 Microsoft

A brand new Lumia handset may very well be in the pipeline. A wealth of new details about the purported Microsoft Lumia 640 has reached the Internet, making the device more tangible than ever. According to the leak, the smartphone, which goes by the model number RM-1109, has already been approved Brazil's National Telecommunication Agency called the Anatel.

The handset has a dual SIM DTV variant, which includes sports integrated digital television. This feature may be most appreciated by Brazilians who seem to love to watch plenty of awesome football action. The leaked paperwork also revealed some of the specs and features of the Lumia 640, including connectivity support on HSDPA+, Wi-Fi and Bluetooth 4.0 as well as a 2500 mAh battery unit. Wireless charging is rumored to be utilized on the device as well.

According to GSM Arena, the Lumia 640 will be powered by a quad-core Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1 GB RAM and 8 GB storage capacity. It is expected to incorporate a microSD card slot, too, for memory expansion. It remains to be seen though whether the Microsoft Lumia 640 will run Windows 8.1 or Windows 10, which is still in development.

In terms of display, the Lumia 640 will be a big one as it is said to come with a 5-inch screen with a decent 720p resolution. Also, it looks like the latest Microsoft mid-range offering will pack a hefty 8.7-megapixel rear-facing camera, most likely the same as the one that the Lumia 920 has. There will also be a 0.9-megapixel front-facing shooter in there, too.

The Microsoft Lumia 640 is expected to be unveiled during the Mobile World Congress next month. As per GSM Arena, Microsoft has asked for confidentiality for the device until March 13, which suggests that the release date is close. GSM Arena says that the Microsoft Lumia 640 will be priced around $275 upon its release.
