Microsoft Lumia 650 to be the last Lumia?

The web has been particularly shrill with news about Microsoft Lumia handsets. Just recently, there emerged a rumor that the Microsoft Lumia 650 will be the last Lumia to ever come out of Redmond. This is what tipster Sleaknow claims.

Not much is known about the device except that it has a 5-inch screen and a metal edge. But according to Phone Arena, it doesn't look like the handset will be much different from its predecessor, Lumia 640.

It won't be a surprise if the Microsoft Lumia 650 features the same specs the Lumia 640 has. This includes the Qualcomm Snapdragon 400 processor, 1GB of RAM and 8GB of storage space that can be expanded. The imaging department is made up of an 8-MP rear shooter and 1-MP front snapper.

Sleaknow did not provide details as to when the device will be released but if it will indeed be the last smartphone with the Lumia branding, it won't be out before the Microsoft Lumia 550, which is expected to be available next month in the UK.

Carphone Warehouse now has the 4.7-inch device on pre-order and lists shipment date on Dec. 8. The retailer has a slew of deals that go with the handset (including a £9.50 per month contract) but the device, which is offered in black and white, itself is priced at £89.99.

On the other hand, Clove offers the Microsoft Lumia 550 for £99.00 and promises to have the device on buyers' doorstep by Dec. 10. Unlocked Mobiles price the device at £94.98 with the same shipment date as Clove.

The Lumia 550 is among the first batch of devices with Windows 10 on board. It has a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210 processor running the show with a 2100mAh battery keeping the lights on for 17 hours, as advertised. The handset has 1 GB RAM, 8 GB storage (expandable up to 200 GB) and a 5-MP/2-MP camera combo.
