For a while now, users have been hearing about the upcoming Windows 10 handset dubbed the Microsoft Lumia 650. There was completely no sign of a bigger version until live images of the so-called Microsoft Lumia 650 XL were leaked.

The said handset was pictured next to the 6-inch Lumia 1520 for size comparison. The source of the photos claims that the device comes with a 5.4-inch display with 720p resolution, which is relatively larger than the standard model's 5-inch screen.

GSM Arena notes that XL versions of Windows 10 handsets are not exactly something new to the Redmond-based software giant. It has previously launched products of that sort, namely the 5-inch Lumia 640 and its 5.7-inch counterpart Lumia 640 XL. One could not forget the Microsoft Lumia 950 and 950 XL.

The specs of the Microsoft Lumia 650 XL are very much the same as those of its younger brother. The smartphone will be powered by a Qualcomm Snapdragon 210/212 processor with 1 GB RAM to boot. Softpedia notes that the chipset could end up being the Snapdragon 617.

Unfortunately, those were the only specs revealed in the live images. But the aforementioned publication believes that with what's under the hood, Microsoft is looking to put out a Windows 10 device for phablet fans who do not want to break the bank.

Softpedia believes that the Microsoft Lumia 650 XL will be priced at only $250 and is expected to be launched with its little brother later this month. While the authenticity of the live images is still in question, what's definite is that Microsoft will be unveiling a new handset.

The company is expected to launch a new Windows 10 device as early as Feb. 15. Microsoft has not confirmed the launch event, although it is rumored that a new Windows phone will be out before the month of February concludes and it might end up being the Microsoft Lumia 650 and 650 XL.
