Microsoft has announced a couple of devices recently, and one of them is the Surface Book i7. The latest hybrid device comes with a bigger battery capacity that can offer up to 16 hours usage per charge. The said device will be released on Nov. 10.

The latest generation of the Surface Book looks exactly the same as its predecessor. It still has the same screen size and design, but the internal specs are different. First, it has an upgraded battery which, compared to its predecessor, offers 30 percent more battery life, which is especially helpful when on the go. However, it also became heavier, weighing in at 3.64 lbs. (1.65 kg.) compared to 3.48 lbs. (1.58 kg.) of the original version.

As the name implies, the Surface Book i7 has a more powerful processor, a sixth-generation Intel Core i7 chip, and the device comes with either 8 GB or 16 GB of RAM. Its SSD storage also has several options, starting with the standard 256 GB and is upgradeable to 512 GB and 1 TB.

Adding more to its computing power is the dedicated video graphics card. All models of the second generation come in with an NVIDIA GeForce GTX 965M that has 2 GB GDDR5 VRAM. Previously, only the top model comes with an NVIDIA GeForce GPU while the lower variants come with an Intel HD graphics.

The display screen comes with the same 13.5-inch Pixel Sense Display with a 3000 x 2000 resolution and 267 ppi pixel density. Its aspect ratio comes in at 3:2, and it still offers the 10-point multi-touch feature.

Additionally, it has a dual-band WiFi and Bluetooth 4.0 wireless connectivity. It also contains two USB 3.0 ports, an SD card reader, Surface Connect, a headset jack, and a mini Displayport. An 8MP camera is at the rear, while the front contains a 5 MP one, and both can record up to 1080p HD videos. Stereo microphones and stereo speakers with Dolby Audio Premium come in standard as well.

The Microsoft Surface Book i7 is now ready for pre-orders via the Microsoft Store, and it is worth $2,399 for the 8 GB/256 GB SSD variant. The 16 GB RAM/512 SSD model goes for $2,799, while the 16 GB RAM/ 1TB SSD is available for $3,299. The latest device will be released on Nov. 10.
