Fresh from unveiling its newest addition to its products and services lineup, it seems that Microsoft's Surface Book already has a legion of waiting fans. According to reports, pre-orders for the new mobile workhorse have already sold out, two weeks before its grand launch.

According to industry insider CNET, checking out all five variants of the upcoming Surface Book on the Microsoft Store will pop up an image saying the device is currently unavailable. In a statement released to the press, a spokesperson for the Redmond-based company said, "We've seen strong demand for Surface Book and have sold out of preorder supply for Oct. 26 availability."

Fans who are eagerly waiting for the arrival of the Microsoft mobile workhorse can wait for the online listing to be updated with new stock. Meanwhile, there will also be limited quantities of the device to be available in retail stores. The spokesperson added, "We will have limited quantities of Surface Book available in store on Oct. 26 and will be updating online availability with new product ship dates soon."

The Surface Book is an additional surprise by Microsoft in its Oct. 6 event. Industry followers only expected the tech giant to come out with new Lumias and the much-rumored Surface Pro 4. The Surface Book, Microsoft's first foray into the laptop hardware department, was indeed a surprise. Unlike the Surface Pro 4 hybrid, the Surface Book is a dedicated laptop, but transforms into a tablet via a detachable keyboard. It was made available for pre-orders on Oct. 7, and will be out in the market on Oct. 26.

The Surface Book features a 13.5-inch display with a new and powerful Intel Core processor. Outfitted with Windows 10, the new laptop features all the bells and whistles of the new platform. Particularly, the Surface Book can be accessed via Windows Hello, since the laptop also has the Intel 3D RealSense camera integrated.
