The Microsoft Surface Phone is heavily speculated to be unveiled during the ongoing IFA (Internationale Funkausstellung Berlin), which is being held from Sept. 2 to Sept. 7. According to several rumors, however, the event might come to pass with no mention of the phone and it is speculated to be unveil in October instead.

According to PC Advisor, there are no confirmations that Microsoft would unveil the phone this September and there aren't even any valid evidences that the phone even exists. However, if it does exist the report points out that it is more likely to be unveiled in October.

This is because Microsoft is scheduled to showcase the upcoming Surface Pro 5, their signature tablet device, in October. The Surface Phone may be unveiled at the same time, particularly since it will be Microsoft's new flagship phone now that Nokia, Microsoft's former acquisition for mobile devices, has been dissolved.

Yibada reports that the phone is rumored to sport a 5.5-inch AMOLED display. There will also be a possible high-end version of the phone carrying 8GB of RAM. Intel is no longer working on mobile processors and this makes it likely that the Surface Phone will be powered by the upcoming Qualcomm Snapdragon 821 processor. 

The entry variant of the phone will reportedly come with 3GB of RAM and a base storage option of 32GB, although there will be higher-end versions with 64GB of storage available. It is uncertain at this point if the Surface Phone will have an SD card slot to further expand storage options.

It is further pointed out that a mid-range version may come with 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage but there are rumors of a high end version of the phone with 500GB of storage. This high-end variant may be the version to carry 8GB of RAM although nothing has been confirmed at this point.
