Microsoft graced the Mobile World Congress armed with only two Lumia debuts in the smartphone department. Fans were waiting for any announcement regarding the ever-elusive Surface phone, but the tech giant is still keeping mum and details are still being kept under wraps about the alleged flagship product.

However, Microsoft's Stephen Elop chose to leave crumbs as he hinted during an interview with CNet that the next flagship phone to be released would be much closer to the Surface Pro 3.

"There are a few clues on a device like this," he said as he grabbed a Surface Pro 3.

And as he was hyping the stylus and handwriting features of the laptop-tablet hybrid and its numerous functions that helps increase productivity such as sharing information in conferences, he asked, "What do you do to take those classes of experience to a new level, in a way people have never seen before? The most important thing is getting the user experience that works across multiple platforms correct."

Elop's comments could indicate a stylus function to come with their next flagship phone, and to incorporate the company's tablet features for an across-the-spectrum mobile business productivity experience. He also hinted that the flagship phone will coincide with the unveiling of the latest operating system from Microsoft, Windows 10.

Meanwhile, a concept phone has been making its rounds online, as rumors about Microsoft's Surface phone line-up rage on. Designer Nadir Aslam, together with 3D renderer Eugene Janke, conceptualized the Surface phone as having a 5.7-inch full HD display, with a Surface pen and touch cover, running on Windows 10. Made from VaporMg, the concept phone has a built in kickstand and a touch cover that incorporates a full, pressure-sensitive keyboard. The 3D models can be seen on Behance
