The new ads of Microsoft Surface Pro 3 attacked the MacBook Air. Microsoft released three new ads entitled "Crowded," "Head-to-Head," and "Power."

Originally, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 is a contender in the tablet market. However, the Redmond-based giant offers an optional keyboard that transforms the tablet into a notebook. Microsoft's latest offering packs specs and features that are on par with other notebooks such as that of Apple's MacBook Air. Moreover, Microsoft Surface Pro 3 also comes with touchscreen panels and a stylus that are missing in Apple's laptop.

The tablets pack a Haswell processor. The 64GB and 128GB models are equipped with 4GB RAM, while the high-end 512GB and 256GB versions are shipping with bigger 8GB. Microsoft is also giving away a free "Surface Pen" (stylus) along with the tablets as well as a battery with a capacity of up to nine hours for web browsing or constant use.

All of the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 models pack a 12-inch screen display and Windows 8.1 OS. The tablet is considerably thinner with its thickness measuring only 9.1mm. It is also lighter as it weighs only 800 grams.

The tablet aimed to squash Apple's MacBook laptops. Although the Microsoft Surface Pro 3 was a tablet, it comes with a keyboard accessory that is sold separately for $130 that transforms it into a laptop. This tablet-laptop hybrid aims to replace laptops.

Apple, on the other hand, silently slipped the upgraded MacBook Airs in the market not so long ago. To the disappointment of many fans, the new MacBook Air skipped the Retina display, which was rumored to arrive in the notebook. Moreover, the laptop packed less stellar specs and features that made consumers look for other alternatives. However, rumors claimed that Apple is set to release another set of MacBook Airs later this year.
