People waiting for the arrival of the Surface Pro 4 finally received the news they were hoping for when Microsoft officially announced the new tablet during the company's Oct. 6 event.

Aside from officially announcing the Surface Pro 4, Microsoft also gave folks the date when they could expect the new tablet to be in stores. According to the company, the Surface Pro 4 should be available as early as Oct. 26.

Folks in the UK also eager to get hands on the Surface Pro 4 will have to wait just a bit longer as it will be in stores there beginning Nov. 10, according to PC Advisor UK

The Surface Pro 4 is already available for pre-order.

As for what specs and features people can expect from the Surface Pro 4, it will reportedly sport the much talked about Intel Skylake processor. That new processor will then be paired up with 16 GB of RAM.

The Surface Pro 4 is also thinner and lighter than its predecessor, making it easier to carry it around either for work or any other purpose. It also has a 12.3-inch display, providing ample workspace for users.

Despite the changes that have been made to the Surface Pro 4, it still closely resembles the Surface Pro 3, so people who have previous experience using that tablet will not have to go through a significant adjustment period to get used to the new one.

Apart from the announcement of the Surface Pro 4, Microsoft also announced that their new tablet will be coming with the updated Surface Pen, ZD Net reported.

The updated Surface Pen is now capable of 1,024 touch levels. It will also come bundled together with an eraser. Additionally, the new Surface Pen comes in five different colors, giving folks the option of choosing the one that works best for them.

Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 is currently available for $899.
