With Microsoft already on its way to finalizing the release of its new platform Windows 10, more Microsoft fans are now focusing on checking out the latest devices to carry the new operating system, particularly Microsoft's own take on a mobile hybrid workstation, its Surface Pro series.

When launched, the new Surface Pro will be the fourth iteration of the product. The upcoming Surface Pro 4, aside from carrying the new Windows 10 platform right out of the box, will also feature some new improved specs and apps. According to speculations, the upcoming Surface Pro will roll out in two versions, the popular 12-inch one much like its predecessor, and a larger one with a 14-inch display – possibly to counter the rumored iPad Pro to be launched by rival Apple.

With reports of laptops already using the Skylake architecture on their new mobile workstations, the new Surface Pro will either ship out with a Skylake-run processor, or a more stable version of the current Intel Core M Broadwell CPU. The maximized performance, coupled with innovative designs such as punctured holes in its body to stave off processor heat, will also give the Surface Pro 4 a longer battery life than the previous Pro 3, reportedly running from five up to seven hours.

Meanwhile, while reports of the Surface Pro 4 place the release of the product in October, there are also speculations that Microsoft is cooking up a Mini version of its popular 2-in-1 mobile hybrid device. According to rumors, the Surface Pro Mini is an added option to the lineup to counter the iPad Mini market, catering to people with mobility and compact usability in mind. The Surface Pro Mini will have all the specs and functionalities of its bigger cousins, and it will also have the edge of Continuum, one of the many features of the new Windows 10 platform.
