After Microsoft announced that it has marked July 29 as the release date of the highly anticipated Windows 10 operating system, gadget enthusiasts are now looking forward to hearing some news about the tech giant's next-generation laptop-tablet hybrid device.

Previous reports claimed that the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will be the first new gadget release from the Redmond-based tech firm that will run using Windows 10. Now that the operating system will finally come out in late July, it is speculated that the laplet would come out at the same time or shortly after. However, since Microsoft did not mention the device during the announcement of Windows 10, it would be safe to assume that it will not come out on the same day.

Based on reports, the Microsoft Surface Pro 4 will come in two sizes. One of them is the 12-inch display model just like the current-gen Surface Pro 3; and the other one is the larger 14-inch display variant. Both models will allegedly have a resolution of 2160 x 1440 pixels, and will feature a lot of improved specs. For instance, compared to the previous Surface Pro device that has a maximum of 8 GB, the upcoming Surface Pro 4 is said to come with 16 GB RAM. Some say that it will boast a maximum of 1 TB internal storage space as well.

Tech Radar revealed that the upcoming device will be powered by an Intel Core M Broadwell processor, which is also present in a variety of computer devices in the market today, including the latest MacBook from Apple Inc. Conversely, a previous report from Cross Map stated that the new Surface Pro 4 will run using a Skylake processor, the latest from Intel. This could lessen its energy use by up to 30 percent compared to Surface Pro 3.

The Microsoft Surface Pro 4 is also likely to include a specially designated stylus, a Type Cover 3, a USB Type-C port, a keyboard accessory to turn the tablet into a fully-functional laptop, and a docking station.

Microsoft has yet to confirm the Surface Pro 4 release date and specs rumors.
