The much-awaited release of Microsoft's Surface Pro 4 might happen without too much fanfare, according to several online sites, but that does not mean that the upcoming hybrid laptop/tablet would not be worthy to be given a try. With the predicted features of the next generation product in the Surface Pro line, it will mos likely beat its predecessors because of its function and form. But will the alleged upcoming device have what it takes to make buyers forget all its other versions?

According to speculations, the Surface Pro 4 will be bigger and lighter compared to its earlier editions. It will allegedly come with a 12.9-inch screen that features 2160 x 1440 pixel resolution. It will also be equipped with the latest Core M processors from Intel, and the Redmond-based tech giant could also release it with the upcoming Windows 10 operating system once the software is released.

But are these features enough to beat the Surface Pro 3 or the Surface Pro 2? 

In comparison with the future Surface Pro 4, the current Surface Pro 3 has a slightly smaller 12-inch screen with 2160 x 1440 pixel resolution. Released last May 21, 2014, the incumbent flagship laptop/tablet has 4 GB RAM and 64 GB internal memory. It runs using the Windows 8.1 Pro software. 

On the other hand, the previous model, the Microsoft Surface Pro 2, has a slightly smaller 10.6-inch full HD display with 1920 x 1080 resolution with a 10-point multi-touch glass protection. Rolled out in October 2013, It comes with a 4th generation Intel Core i5 processor, and has a couple of 720p HD cameras that can be seen at the back and in the front of the device. The Surface Pro 2 comes with the same software as its immediate successor.

If all the rumored specs of the Surface Pro 4 are true, then the upcoming laptptablet hybrid from Microsoft could be something to look forward to.
