Consumer expectation is quite high for the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5, if there is one in existence.

The series' hardcore fans are hoping for it to be lighter and smaller in profile as well as have a better camera and battery life and an option for a bigger screen. Many are also clamoring for a less buggy operating system and a better Cortana experience. Rumor has it that the next Microsoft hybrid tablet will be announced during a Microsoft event in October.

Microsoft Surface Pro 5 rumors are starting to swirl even though the latest tablet is merely four months old. While some users may only be starting to enjoy their premium hybrid tablet, some are already speculating the things that the Redmond-based tech giant may offer in its next-gen device.

However, several features of the Surface Pro have already reached their peak, unless better technology shows itself. The seventh generation of the Intel processor, as Release Date Portal surmised, is not arriving until 2017. There is a possibility that the storage space can be jacked up to 2TB, but does one really need that much space on a tablet?

The memory is suggested to still have the same options, 4GB/8GB/16GB, while the stylus can offer more pressure sensitivity, up to 2048 levels. Some also prefer a bigger screen, for Adobe and Autodesk software, to tackle editing work.

The operating system is expected to be upgraded to Windows 10.1 Pro or the latest and most stable version of Windows 10 Pro at the time of release.

There are mixed preferences when it comes to the keyboard. Some are suggesting that Microsoft include it in the package to truly say that it is a replacement for the laptop, considering its price point. However, some also agree with Microsoft's approach since the Surface Pro is a hybrid tablet and not a laptop.

Nevertheless, many are unanimous in saying that the upcoming Microsoft Surface Pro 5 should have a USB 3.1 or USB Type-C port.

There is no official word yet about the Microsoft Surface Pro 5 or any of its features.
