The Milwaukee Bucks are struggling this season and might need a new player who can spark some life into their campaign, one player that is being linked to the team is the Minnesota Timberwolves' veteran guard Kevin Martin.

In a report by Mike Woolfson of HNGN.com, he cited a tweet by Sheridan Hoops' Michael Scotto who stated, "Bucks had exploratory trade interest in Wolves guard Kevin Martin, sources told Sheridan Hoops. One source called talks, "due diligence.""

Despite the potential trade being "exploratory," Woolfson mentioned in his report that the Bucks could acquire Martin to help the team's lackluster bench production.

The Bucks have young players who are starting to emerge, but this season is not just shaping up the way a lot of people expected it to be.

After making it to the playoffs last season as the sixth seed, which was surprising to many, the Bucks are 13th in the Eastern Conference standings this season with a 16–25 record.

Despite having talented youngsters like the "Greek Freak" Giannis Antetokounmpo, second-year forward Jabari Parker, and former Rookie of the Year point guard Michael-Carter Williams, Woolfson pointed out Milwaukee's lack in bench scoring, in which Martin can help.

Martin is a veteran already playing in his 12th season, third with the Minnesota Timberwolves, where he is a member of the second unit.

In 31 games played this season (12 starts), Martin is averaging 11.7 points, 2.1 rebounds, and 1.3 assists in 23.6 minutes played per contest.

Despite losing the starting role with the Timberwolves, Martin's numbers are not bad for a veteran and someone coming off the bench.

If the Bucks are able to acquire him via trade, the 32-year-old can play the no. 2 or 3 position and can replace Parker or starting shooting guard Khris Middleton during a game.

But so far, there are no significant moves being made by the involved teams regarding the potential deal, perhaps soon with the trade deadline nearing.
