This year's Minecon event in London was attended by more than 10,000 individuals from all over the world, which makes it the Guinness World Record holder for being the biggest single video game convention in history. A representative from Guinness World Records was present during the inaugural event Sunday to hand over the certificate to Mojang's brand director Lydia Winters.

According to the representative, "The record you have received is for the largest convention for a single video game – that's Minecon 2015: 10,000 tickets sold. All that's left for me to say is that Minecon, you are officially amazing."

In a report posted by The Independent UK, the Minecon 2015 event attracted participants from 73 countries worldwide, reaching as far as New Zealand.

Aside from holding the record as the biggest single game convention, this year's Minecon also revealed a lot of thrilling announcements during the two-day event held at the ExCeL London Exhibition and Conference Centre last July 4 and 5.

One of the event's biggest news is the arrival of "Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition" that will be launched as soon as the newest Microsoft operating system comes out on July 29. The new PC version of the popular sandbox puzzle game will come out with a lot of new features such as the PC-to-mobile multiplayer as well as the 8-person online play and multiple input support for seamless switching between a console's gamepad, a computer keyboard, or a smartphone or tablet's touchscreen.

The "Minecraft: Windows 10 Edition" can also take advantage of the upcoming Xbox app featured in the new Windows 10. This means that players can record and share their own gameplay clips through the GameDVR. This edition will be downloadable for free for those who own the PC version of "Minecraft," while others can purchase it for only $10.

Also, game developer Mojang presented the latest additions to the game. This includes the new dual-wielding feature, which will allow the players to handle two separate items simultaneously for more convenient crafting and combat. New arrow types like enchanted arrows and glow arrows were also introduced during the event.

In addition, the game developer announced that the PC version of the Ender Dragon has been modified so that those who are using that version will enjoy what the console players are currently enjoying.

Finally, Telltale Games debuted the gameplay trailer for the highly anticipated "Minecraft: Story Mode" episodic game during Minecon 2015. The studio responsible for some of the most popular adventure titles like "Game of Thrones" and "The Walking Dead" will incorporate the game's signature blocky universe with an exciting narrative gameplay, which will soon be released in PlayStation, Xbox, PC, and mobile device editions.
