Microsoft will soon introduce "Minecraft" Marketplace that comes with a brand-new digital currency. This means that players of the game's Windows 10 and Pocket Edition versions can soon take advantage of a business opportunity that could help them sell their contents to other "Minecraft" players around the world.

According to the game's official website, "Minecraft" Marketplace is meant to serve as a store for creators to share their contents in various parts of the world. "For the first time, skins, textures and worlds designed by the community are coming to the store in Pocket and Windows 10 edition. We've made it safe and easy to purchase community-made content for your Minecraft," the game publisher stated. "Buy once, then enjoy it on any Windows 10 or Pocket device, forever."

According to reports, the new "Minecraft" Marketplace will be introduced later this spring. It will reportedly come with nine businesses that will trade feature packs within the game. Moreover, the feature packs will have storylines, in-game activities, and landscapes. These packs will reportedly come with a $1–$10 price range.

In an interview with Bloomberg, "Minecraft" executive producer John Thornton explained the reason why they opted to develop a marketplace within the popular sandbox puzzle game. "For the first time we are going to enable creators to come in and put content into our store alongside the same content that Minecraft makes," Thornton stated. "The real impetus is to let creators connect to players and help them make a living on top of Minecraft."

The report also reveals that the new currency to be introduced with the upcoming in-game marketplace will be called "Minecraft" Coins.

While Microsoft remains mum about the release date of the "Minecraft" Marketplace, reports claim that the tech firm will conduct a public beta for Android devices later this month.
