'Minecraft' on Nintendo Switch news: Random screenshot glitch reported

The Nintendo Switch edition of "Minecraft" experiences glitch.nintendo.com

A strange glitch is reportedly happening in the Nintendo Switch version of "Minecraft" since its release.

On Reddit, a user named MightyPigeon claims his Nintendo Switch suddenly started taking screenshots even if he is not pressing the console's capture button. "I'm not sure if it is on an interval but I have noticed it only happening when in handheld mode or when using the joycons not the pro controller," the forum user states.

Then another forum member named Raingna asks him if he has "Minecraft," since he heard there are Nintendo Switch users who began reporting the same case after installing Mojang's popular puzzle sandbox game.

This is not the first time the glitch was reported in public. According to reports, the official livestream preview posted in April revealed that the random screenshot was affecting both "Minecraft" and the home menu of Nintendo's newest game console.

Reports reveal that players can simply perform a hard reset on their Nintendo Switch by holding the Power button for 10 seconds, then press it again to turn the console back. This can reportedly solve the glitch.

However, Nintendo has yet to come up with an official announcement regarding the solution to the glitch in the coming days.

Meanwhile, Microsoft explains the reason why the Nintendo Switch version of "Minecraft" is running at a 720p resolution on both the console's handheld and docked modes.

In a report from Time, Microsoft states that the resolution of both the handheld and docked versions of "Minecraft" is caused by the issues experienced when shifting between resolutions. However, the game studio also claimed that the "Minecraft" for Switch could still have a chance to reach a 1080p when docked in the future.

The "Minecraft" Nintendo Switch version can be purchased digitally on Nintendo's website for $29.99.
