'Minecraft: Story Mode' release date in October - what to expect

Mojang official website

"Minecraft" has grown into one of the most wildly addictive and entertaining games released in recent memory. The popular game has also amassed quite a following, and the good news for fans of the game is that they will be able to enjoy more of "Minecraft" very soon.

According to a listing on the retail website Amazon as reported by Gamespot, the new "Minecraft: Story Mode" is coming out in North America on Oct. 27.

Interestingly enough, another listing, this time appearing on the Amazon UK website, also indicated a release date for "Minecraft: Story Mode" and this one said it would be out three days later on Oct. 30.

The small discrepancy in the release dates means that fans in other parts of the world may have to wait just a bit longer for "Minecraft: Story Mode" to be released where they are, but the wait will reportedly not be too long.

It's also believed that the release date for "Minecraft: Story Mode" will more likely be similar to the one listed for North America as opposed to the one posted for the United Kingdom.

As for why gamers should actually care about the upcoming "Minecraft: Story Mode," the reason is it adds new content that has otherwise been absent in the game.

For example, there will now be a new single player campaign mode that will be available to fans, serving to give them some formally structured gameplay that may have been lacking before, according to Neurogadget.

"Minecraft: Story Mode" will also be featuring an array of characters voiced by some well known Hollywood personalities such as Ashley Johnson, Patton Oswalt, and Brian Posehn, among others.

It's an interesting group that is more than capable of adding more intrigue to the characters whom players will meet in "Minecraft: Story Mode."
