'Minecraft' Title Update 18: PS4, Xbox players to ride horses with update

Horse riding anyone?Facebook

4J Studios has set up a bunch of goodies for "Minecraft" gamers and they involve mobs and even more mobs.

The developer teased the Title Update 18 through Twitter, wherein a photo of the game running on an Xbox 360 showed a donkey in the inventory menu. The new content was made less subtle as the developers made sure to have gamers look in the background to see the real donkey in action. Players can navigate through the map while riding a horse. They can take good care of them, too, by breeding and feeding them, allowing them to help gamers reach farther places with them.

While some gamers have long glorified the inclusion of these passive mobs on PC, "Minecraft" gamers on the Xbox 360 and PS3 will get them for the first time. PS4 and Xbox One players are not to be singled out either. Sure enough, the appearance of donkeys was only followed by hay bales, rope leads and other horse-friendly blocks like carpet, coal, and "hardened clay that can be turned into stained clay with dye."

As charming creatures have invaded the "Minecraft" realm, a mob entirely the opposite managed to tag along. In the Title Update 18, unfriendly witches will plague gamers. These are treacherous beings that use splash potions as they collectively assault players. They are made even more sinister as they can skillfully inflict the same damage when in close proximity as they are in far range. The good thing though is that these mobs are not very frequent visitors, so players won't have to deal with them repeatedly. The other good thing about their existence is the useful items they give out when killed. The Fuse Joplin mentioned some of the handy items, which include sugar, glow stone dust, glass bottles and red stone.

4J Studios also dished the upcoming availability of mobs like bats, witches, the Wither boss and Wither Skeletons in game consoles. In addition, there will be beacons and Title Update 14 updates like Carrots on Sticks and Anvils.

The Redstone Update brought redstone blocks such as a comparator, hopper, dropper, daylight sensor, trapped chest, weighted pressure plates, and block of redstone all on top of a lighting engine optimization. An exclusive PC update comes in the form of a scoreboard system.

The specific rollout date of the Title Update 18 for "Minecraft" for game consoles is still a mystery but it is certain that the much-awaited content is well underway.
