For gamers, most will probably agree that Minecraft is one video game that has gained worldwide popularity. So popular that Microsoft went on to buy Mojang, the company behind it.

And now, with Microsoft taking over, it looks like the game is set to be expanded before the year comes to an end.

According to Gearnuke.com, Microsoft plans to launch the game over in China for Xbox One users. Curiously, Minecraft is a brand familiar in China. Despite that, however, the game has been far from reaching its full potential, with piracy seen as one of the reasons as far as the PC version of it is concerned. 

Hence, it now becomes the mission of Microsoft to try and build on that niche and make it successful the way it should be. This may, of course, exclude the mobile version, which has so far been ranking in the list of top games.

Microsoft's job will thus be to help jack up sales of official copies of the game, especially for Xbox One. At the moment, PC and mobile versions have been the focus over in China, understandably since these two platforms are the more widely used in the country.

Although there are some folks over there who will surely be eager to get a copy of the Minecraft for Xbox One, it remains to be seen how the gaming console can convince the Chinese consumer market to play the game via Microsoft's patented console.

So with that said, is Microsoft's focus really on the game or more on their game console? From the looks of it, it may be a little bit of both.

With the Minecraft game at the driver's seat, such could spur up sales for the gaming console segment, which is sadly not something to be proud of.
