Minnesota Timberwolves NBA 2015 news: Towns to visit

Karl-Anthony Towns has been tagged as the favorite to be the top pick in the coming NBA Draft and all that could be finalized if the supposed meeting would take place.

There is no word on whether Towns will be meeting or working out for the Timberwolves despite the fact that head coach Flip Saunders is reportedly more interested in Jahlil Okafor.

Towns has not been that active meeting up with various NBA teams and this scheduled meet-up with the Timberwolves will be the first one. Could Saunders change his mind when he meets Towns up close?

With only days left before the draft, the T-Wolves pick remains a toss-up between Towns and Okafor. A team closely monitoring this development is the Los Angeles Lakers who will be selecting second.

The immediate prognosis is that the Lakers may likely select whoever is left between Towns and Okafor though D'Angelo Russel remains in the mix.

Okafor had mentioned before that he wants to be a Laker but it seems that Towns wants to join Kobe Bryant and company as well. But the real issue here is whether the Lakers would get a big man from the draft or a guard?

Julius Randle seems to be pitching in to convince Towns to join the purple and gold after reportedly sitting down to have lunch earlier this month. However it looks like everything will depend on who the T-Wolves will pick.

Aside from choosing second, there is word as well that the Lakers could be open for trades. It could happen before the actual draft or after – meaning whoever they may end up drafting would not necessarily suit up for Laker Nation.

For the T-Wolves, it would be a history of sorts since they will be having three top picks with their upcoming selection.

For the Lakers, the team has still to take shape with only Jordan Clarkson, Julius Randle, Tarik Black and Kobe Bryant identified as holdovers. Jordan Hill and Nick Young could be traded while Jeremy Lin and Carlos Boozer are not expected to come back next season.
