"Mirror's Edge", the 2008 action adventure video that was developed by DICE and published by EA, has a sequel in the works, which is most likely going to be titled "Mirror's Edge 2."

According to Polygon, the upcoming video game's senior producer, Sara Jansson had stated during E3 2014:

"I wanted to let you know that the game is progressing nicely and I think you're going to love it. I know many of you probably wish we would show more of the game, but we're still pretty early in development and our passionate core Mirror's Edge team is working full on to make the best game possible."

The website has stated that although "Mirror's Edge" focused on the life of the game's primary protagonist and controlled character Faith, and how she manages to uncover the conspiracy taking at the political level, the upcoming game will bring a different setting to the table. With the release date of "Mirror's Edge" set in 2016, the story line will be a prequel, as players will control the same character and bear witness to how a chain of events led to the setting formed in the first video game.

With DICE taking charge, "Mirror's Edge 2" is going to be constructed on the Frostbite 3 engine, which is the same engine that is going be used for BioWare's "Mass Effect 4," which is also expected to be released in 2016. At the moment, DICE has its hands full since there are several games that are going to be released by the game developing studio, with the most anticipated one being "Star Wars Battlefront."

In addition, DICE is also being rumored to be working another Battlefield video game, which will serve as the sequel for "Battlefield Hardline." "Mirror's Edge" will be compatible with next-generation consoles and of course Microsoft Windows. With Windows 10 just around the corner, it is possible that the upcoming video game will receive visual and performance improvements, courtesy of DirectX 12.
