Game publisher Electronic Arts has already confirmed that there will be a new "Mirror's Edge" game. Titled "Mirror's Edge: Catalyst," it will not be a direct sequel to the first, but would feature a new story and design, and improved gameplay. 

Electronic Arts is expected to present details about the title at this year's Electronic Entertainment Expo, to be held from June 16 to 18 in California. The event will showcase the biggest names in electronic entertainment, particularly in the gaming industry. 

In addition to an E3 appearance, Electronic Arts is also partnering with comic giant Dark Horse Comics to give fans of the "Mirror's Edge" series a rare treat. Dark Horse Comics has announced that it will be releasing a new limited series titled "Mirror's Edge: Exordium." "Exordium" typically refers to an introduction, and observers say that the new limited-edition comic series will depict events that unfolded in the gap between the first "Mirror's Edge" and the upcoming "Catalyst" installment. 

Dark Horse Comics will be working with developer DICE in creating the filler series, with the team comprised of DICE narrative director Christofer Emgard for the story and "Mirror's Edge" in-house artists Mattias Haggstrom, Robert Sammelin, Henrik Sahlstrom, and Erik Persson. 

Speaking about the collaboration, Dark Horse senior editor Dave Marshall said, "Set in a world as iconic as it is visually stunning, with one of the most compelling and unique protagonists in popular culture, Mirror's Edge is tailor made for great comics." 

Marshall also hinted that this might just be the start of a long-term collaboration between DICE and their company, saying, "It's an awesome opportunity to be able to kick off our partnership with DICE with this series!"

The first issue of "Mirror's Edge: Exordium" will be released on Sept. 9.
