Those who are eagerly waiting for the next installment in the "Mirror's Edge" franchise will be a bit disappointed, as it is revealed that "Mirror's Edge: Catalyst" will be delayed anew.

According to the announcement posted on the "Mirror's Edge" website, the game will not release next month. Instead of the May 24 release, the game will not roll out at least two weeks later, on June 7 for North America and June 9 for Europe. Ostensibly, developer DICE said the delayed release will hopefully "... give ourselves a bit more time to perfect the game."

Meanwhile, it seems that this will be the final set back for the game's release. DICE promised that with the delay, "We're confident that these extra two weeks will make sure the game is as amazing as possible for you the players."

The new schedule is already the second time that "Mirror's Edge: Catalyst" has been delayed. Prior to the May 24 scheduled release, the game had been originally scheduled to launch on February 23.

EA DICE also announced that the closed beta for "Mirror's Edge: Catalyst" is now live, and will use new technology to make the early access seamless and fluid. The closed beta will not only include some of the campaigns, but what DICE calls "Social Play" features. Reportedly, the closed beta will still be on the "Mirror's Edge" network, where players can connect with other gamers and chalk up socially-connected gameplay like the Time Trials and Leaderboards. This feature also serves as the "online play" content for the game.

Although the game serves as another installment in the series, DICE has tweaked the game this time around. GameSpot observed that one of the changes is with the protagonist's skills. In the first game, Faith already has her skills unlocked, but in the upcoming sequel, the skill sets are not available at the start of the game.

"Mirror's Edge: Catalyst" will be released for the PlayStation 4, Xbox One, and Windows PC.
