After suffering an ankle injury in the filming set of "Mission: Impossible 6" back in August, Tom Cruise jumped right back to do his own stunts.

While performing his signature stunts, Cruise broke his ankle after getting stuck on the side of a building. This lead to a seven-week pause on the production. The building was in the Blackfriars district of London and is an office block called the Baynard House. The accident happened on the rooftops.

The said stunt sequence required Cruise to jump from one rooftop to another. Crashing into the Baynard House was part of the scene and was a sort of an ending sequence, but director Christopher McQuarrie did not expect the actor getting hurt. Cruise on the other hand told the director to keep the scene (of him crashing into the building and looking hurt) to give fans something interesting to watch out for.

"This in fact gives us an opportunity to go into editorial and look what we've shot and reassess the movie, which is a luxury you don't normally have because you're on a train that just doesn't stop," McQuarrie told Collider.

According to a report on Daily Mail, the 55-year-old actor was seen in the movie set in Brentwood, Essex, flying a helicopter and driving a large truck. The action star made it clear to the filming crew that was surrounding him all time that he was 100 percent fully recovered.

After the two scenes, Cruise was slightly limping but went back into the heat of the filming by rappelling on a building he just jumped out from.

Joining Cruise for the sixth installment of the movie series are Rebecca Ferguson, Vanessa Kirby, Simon Pegg, Michelle Monaghan, Sean Harris, Ving Rhymes, Sian Brooke, Alec Baldwin, and Angela Bassett.

"Mission: Impossible 6" will hit theaters in July 2018.
