The first "Mission Impossible 5" trailer was released March 23, along with the title and official synopsis of the film. "Mission: Impossible — Rogue Nation" features Tom Cruise's Ethan Hunt and the rest of the Impossible Missions Force as they fight the anti-IMF organization known only as "The Syndicate." 

The trailer features the return of series veterans Jeremy Renner, Simon Pegg, and Ving Rhames. Alec Baldwin will be playing a pivotal role as a politician working to destroy the IMF and may be in connection with The Syndicate. Rebecca Ferguson is also introduced as the film's leading femme fatale. 

Most of the trailer focuses on sleek action set-pieces, including a scenario with Cruise hanging on the wing of an airplane. According to his interview with Yahoo Movies, that was no stunt double. The 52-year-old actor claimed it to be his most dangerous stunt yet, even more so than the Burj Khalifa stunt of the previous film. 

Not much else has been revealed about the movie, but it is expected to be released in theaters on July 31. It was initially slated for a Dec. 25 showing but was later moved up to avoid competing with "Spectre" and "Star Wars: The Force Awakens." 

Stunts aren't the only big news revolving around the film. According to the Hollywood Reporter, Paramount Pictures cleared the "Rogue Nation" title with the MPAA since January, months before Walt Disney CEO Robert Iger announced "Star Wars: Rogue One" in March. 

On technical grounds, Paramount Pictures could have fought a legal battle and make Disney drop the "Rogue One" title but instead they settled on a deal outside the courts. Disney will not refer to the "Rogue One" title until after "Mission Impossible: Rogue Nation" is released in theaters. This will prevent confusing the general audience since the two titles sound so similar.
