The penultimate episode of "Mistresses" season 3 is airing this week, which means that the season finale is right around the corner.

This week's episode will deal with Joss' (Jes Macallan) struggle to clear her name from Luca's (Noam Jenkins) murder so she and Harry (Brett Tucker) can finally get a chance to be together. But before she gets out of prison, she and Calista (Jennifer Esposito) get involved in a nasty spat while the two of them are detained.

For the upcoming season 3 finale, Joss will face another circumstance that will bring her to another crossroad. The official synopsis for the season finale episode titled "Goodbye Girl" reads:

Just as Joss gets her freedom, Harry is presented with an exciting new job opportunity that will impact a future with her. As soon as Scotty (Julius Fair) leaves Los Angeles, Marc (Rob Mayes) disappears, causing April (Rochelle Aytes) to finally realize her true feelings. Vivian's (Sonja Bennett) illness takes a turn for the worse, leaving Karen (Yunjin Kim) adrift and unsure of the future. Joss receives a confusing gift from Calista but when she denies sending it, Joss is sent down the rabbit hole to find out if the real killer might be on the loose."

Meanwhile, series executive producers Rina Minoun and K.J. Steinberg talked to TV Line about the future of the series after the season 3 finale. According to the producers, they still have no idea if ABC will ask them to produce another season of the mystery drama.

"We're the last to know. We were the last to know we were going to [move production to] Vancouver. We're the last to know if we're coming back, but it keeps us on our toes," Mimoun said.

However, both producers revealed that some of the story arcs will have a definitive ending, while some will still end in a cliffhanger to pave the way for another season.

The season 3 finale of "Mistresses" is slated to air on Thursday, Sept. 3.
