ABC's "Mistresses" has been doing a phenomenal job in keeping viewers glued and entertained so far. Season 3 is just a few months away and it seems like the network has a great new season in store for everyone, despite the departure of one of the lead stars, Alyssa Milano.

Season 2 ended with a huge cliffhanger and answering that question will be a challenge for the team behind "Mistresses." They also have to deal with Milano's exit from the show.

Showrunner Rina Mimoun shared that while she cannot speak too much about Milano's character, Savi, she assured fans that "she is very much a part of our premiere."

Many believe that the premiere episode for season 3 will show how Savi will leave the show once and for all. There's also speculation that the show might just do a time jump to avoid the intricacies of the storylines that may get affected when Savi leaves. However, Jess Macallan, who plays Joss (Savi's sister), cleared the latter rumor.

"We really thought there was going to have to be a time jump, but they figured that out. Why skip away from [the drama of the Season 2 finale] and be like, 'Here are our characters six months later'? It'd feel like a disservice. Everybody had big news coming in," she told TVLine

So how will Savi's story end in the show? Could it be that she decides to leave upon seeing Joss and Harry together on the seashore? Or would she decide to leave because of a special guest?

According to TV Guide, a character from season 1 will return and it's none other than Scott, played by Justin Hartley. Could Scott making trouble have something to do with Savi's exit?

Meanwhile, all this talk about season 3 still doesn't negate the fact that fans are sad to see Milano go. However, the actress has very valid reasons why she can't soldier on with the show. In a public statement, she said:

"After two wonderful seasons in Los Angeles, the studio has decided to shoot season three of Mistresses in Vancouver, Canada, for financial reasons. It's with a heavy heart that I have decided that I can't relocate. I have two babies under 4. Being a mother and a wife comes first, and I just cannot uproot my children and separate the family by moving away. I will miss this job desperately and wish everyone the absolute best."

Look out for major surprises when "Mistresses" season 3 airs this summer on ABC.
