The developers of "MLB The Show 16" have decided not to feature actual player tattoos inside the game.

The developer's decision not to include player tattoos in the game comes in the wake of recent news that the publisher of "NBA 2K16" was being sued for the alleged unauthorized use of certain body artwork inside their basketball title.

News regarding the absence of player tattoos inside "MLB The Show 16" was first revealed in a recent Twitch stream by the game's developer Sony San Diego.

The decision to omit player tattoos altogether could help the game's developer save a significant amount of money.

As Attack of the Fanboy noted, the decision not to include player tattoos not only protects the game's developers from being sued, it also helps them save up money that may have otherwise been used to pay the licensing fees necessary to feature the different examples of body artwork.

While player tattoos may be taken out of "MLB The Show 16," there are still plenty of new additions that are being introduced in the game.

In a recent post on the official PlayStation Blog, the game's developers provided more details about the new features that will be included in "MLB The Show 16."

The game's Road to the Show mode, in particular, has been significantly altered by the number of new changes being added to the game.

One way in which the mode has been changed is through the new mechanic that now allows players to compete in an entire series of games continually without having to go back to the main menu. This tweak should help cut down on the amount of waiting time players have to endure between games.

A new perk system is also being added to the Road to the Show mode, Game Zone reported.

There will be two types of perks players can unlock inside "MLB The Show 16." The perks inside the game will either be consumable or passive, and they can help improve the player's performance.

More details about the game are expected to be revealed in the coming weeks. "MLB The Show 16" will be released on March 29.
