Japanese webmanga "Mob Psycho 100" just ended this month, and fans are sad that they will no longer see ONE's creation. However, new reports indicate that fans can actually look forward to something new next year.

The Twitter account for "Mob Psycho 100" posted that there is a "new important information" for the anime that will be announced in 2018. As of this writing, there are no details yet about the announcement, but fans are hoping that this will be some good news about the manga or the anime.

The anime version of the webmanga will return next year, but it is not something that fans are hoping for. It will be a special OVA that focuses on Reigen Arataka. If the OVA will get a positive response from the fans, a full second season of the anime might be released.

While many are hoping that a second season will debut next year, there is no confirmation about that yet. Instead, the 2018 announcement could actually be about the live-action film based on the webmanga. The series will premiere on Netflix on Jan. 12, 2018. Fans can also watch it on TV Tokyo on Jan. 18, 2018, while BS Japan will start airing the show on Jan. 23, 2018.

The live-action series stars Tatsuomi Hamada as the main character, Mob. Also part of the show is Kazuki Namioka as Reigen who is Mob's master and a self-proclaimed psychic, Nogizaka46 member Yuki Yoda as Tsubomi who is Mob's childhood friend, and Akio Ohtsuka as Ekubo/Dimple. It is directed by Koichi Sakamoto and produced by Fuminori Kobayashi. Reiko Yoshida and Kei Kunii are the show's scriptwriters.

The "Mob Psycho 100" series was first launched by ONE, who also created "One Punch Man," on Ura Sunday in 2012. Later on, it was also released in Shogakukan's Manga ONE app in 2014, which ended on Dec. 22. Shogakukan published the manga's 15th compiled book volume on Oct. 19.
