"Modern Family" has gone on a short hiatus after it aired its Christmas episode on Dec. 9 titled "White Christmas." This week, the show will be airing a rerun of the episode and fans can tune in to see how the Dunphys and the Pritchetts chose to celebrate the holiday this year.

In the episode, Gloria (Sofia Vergara) rents a cabin and takes the family there in hopes of having a real white Christmas. However, her plans are ruined when they find out that another person has rented out the cabin. Moreover, it turns out that it's even hotter in the mountains than it is at home. Meanwhile, Andy (Adam Devine) and Haley (Sarah Hyland) couldn't stay away from each other.

The show will return with a new episode titled "Playdates" next year, and in the episode, Claire (Julie Bowen) and Phil (Ty Burrell) decide to double date with a great couple they met on vacation, and it looks like the two found their new best friends. However, the couple never picks up the bill, so on their next dinner Claire insists that Phil should be strong and make them pay.

Meanwhile, Gloria and Jay (Ed O'Neill) also found a couple whom they have a lot of common with. The couple also has a son who is the same age as Gloria and Jay's son, Joe, so they take Joe on a playdate with their new friends' child. But Jay appears to have some reservations as the husband is in his eighties and Jay is taking this very personally.

Haley, Alex (Ariel Winter), and Luke (Nolan Gould) are surprised when their Uncle Mitchell (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) decides to cash in on the birthday coupon that they gave him for a belated birthday celebration, so the three rack their brains for an activity that Mitch will enjoy, and they end up going on an impromptu tour of celebrity homes.

"Modern Family" returns on Wednesday, Jan. 6 at 9 p.m. on ABC.
