In the next episode of "Modern Family," Phil Dunphy (Ty Burrell) and his wife Claire (Julie Bowen) want to celebrate Halloween in a big way but their family does not share the same excitement.

The synopsis of the upcoming installment titled "It's the Great Pumpkin, Phil Dunphy" was released just recently and revealed that Phil and Claire want to have a big Halloween celebration this year. However, their family including their kids Luke (Nolan Gould), Haley (Sarah Hyland), and Alex (Ariel Winter) do not share the same enthusiasm as their parents. It is likely because their kids are a bit older and that Halloween is a special time for young kids. It remains to be seen how Phil and Claire will be able to make their kids excited about Halloween once again.

In the meantime, Cameron Tucker (Eric Stonestreet) and his partner Mitchell Pritchett (Jesse Tyler Ferguson) are fed up of Mitchell's dad, Jay (Ed O'Neill), taking a long time to finish their kitchen renovation. Mitchell decides to take a stand and asks Jay why he is stalling for time. Fans have to tune in to find out why it has been taking weeks for the kitchen remodel to be finished.

In the last episode, Mitchell and Cameron urged their friends Pepper Saltzman (Nathan Lane) and Ronaldo (Christian Barillas) not to impose their own interests on their kid. Apparently, they dressed him on based on their personal preferences and made him talk the way they wanted him to. The gay couple did not allow the young boy to get into his own interests.

It turned out that the boy was genuinely interested in Saltzman and Ronaldo's style and interests, and that Mitchell and Cameron were wrong after all.

"Modern Family" season 9 episode 5 will air on Wednesday, Oct. 25 at 9 p.m. EDT on ABC.
