Monday Night Football live stream [ESPN TV start time]: Watch online Giants vs Lions tonight [preview]

Monday Night Football will see the New York Giants take on the Detroit Lions as Week 1 of the 2014 NFL season draws towards a close. Both teams will be desperate to claim an opening day win, but only one will leave Ford Field in Detroit, Michigan satisfied.

Today's game has a start time of 7.10 p.m. EST and will be broadcast on the ESPN network. The game can also be watched online through live stream – free for subscribers – via the link provided below.

These two teams faced off in Week 16 of the 2013 season, and although the Lions were the stronger team for most of the game, the Giants dragged the game into overtime where they managed to claim a 23-20 win.

That win helped the Giants finish the season in a 7-3 run, although it wasn't enough following their 0-6 start.

The Lions meanwhile went the other way; after a reasonable start they ended the season on a 1-6 slide to finish with a 7-9 season overall. They will need to improve significantly if they are to push for the Playoffs this season.

The Giants have had a very spluttering preseason in preparation for today's opening game. Their offense in particular was mis-firing and it looked like Eli Manning and his receivers still needed more time to find each other. However, they are now out of time, and must deliver unless they want a repeat of last season's fiasco.
