The October release date for "Halo 5: Guardians" is fast approaching, and to further ignite the excitement of fans and gamers, the next chapter in the thrilling "Hunt the Truth" Web marketing series has been released. In the ninth episode titled "Phantoms," fans can have a glimpse into the Master Chief's dark past as well as the shady organization where he came from.

The events featured in the new chapter in the audio log series happens just before the Senate's meeting, wherein a report regarding the abducted Spartan project is read. Based on the report read by narrator Benjamin Giraud, former ODST member Anthony Petrosky provides several evidences that could prove that the Spartan program is immoral. It requires children to be taken away from their families at a young age to train to become warriors, and use them for experimentation to test if the genetically modified vaccines meant to give them supernatural abilities would work. Most of the time, the tests go awry, leaving the poor children physically damaged. 

The 20-minute-long audio log also features the risk in the life of Giraud's companion Mshak Moradi, who appears to be caught in the crossfire that happens immediately after Giraud leaks the information to the Senate. There is no news yet if Moradi survives after the incident.  

Although game company 343 Industries has yet to reveal how the "Hunt the Truth" story will weave into the plot of the upcoming "Halo 5: Guardians" game, speculations claim that players will take over the role of the Master Chief who wants to make an ONI official pay for the horrific Spartan project. 

On the other hand, the game developer revealed that players will have to have at least 1080p resolution to be able to play the game once it is released exclusively on Xbox One. This will be the most ideal setting to maximize the even-toned color saturation of the game's multiplayer maps.

"Halo 5: Guardians" is slated for release on Oct. 27.
