More teeth unearthed at Jersey home

Two more children's teeth were found in the cellar of the former Jersey care home at the centre of an abuse scandal, police said on Thursday.

The discovery brings the total to nine since digging began earlier in the year, and includes six milk teeth.

About 30 bone fragments have also been unearthed in the various cellars at the Haut de la Garenne home following allegations of abuse.

Last month, the island's deputy police chief Lenny Harper said some of the bone fragments showed signs of having been cut and burned in a fireplace, indicating that the inquiry could lead to a murder investigation.

More than 160 people have contacted police saying they were abused at the house since the investigation began.
