"Mortal Kombat X" creator Ed Boon hinted at a possible post-launch DLC for the newly-released fighting game and it involves loads of awesome fighters. There are various non-playable characters in the Story Mode of the title and it looks like game developer NetherRealm has plans of making them playable.

In a conversation with a gamer on Twitter, Boon was asked about the idea, to which he replied with the allusion that if such exists, it will be called Story Pack.

This mere conversation in no way solidifies the existence or at least the game studio's plans about the add-on for "Mortal Kombat X."  But there are just too many characters in the Story Mode that will make "Mortal Kombat" a lot cooler than it already is if they were in the arena as well. These kombatants include Li Mei, Bo' Rai Cho, Kabal, Stryker, Fujin, Smoke, Frost, Sareena, Baraka, Sindel, and Rain.

The latter three were already accessed by a modder who meddled with the "Mortal Kombat X" source files to get to the players. The gamer was able to battle and utilize the characters' complete movesets during his venture.

For now, NetherRealm is bringing four characters to the battlefield by way of a DLC pack. These characters are Jason Voorhees, Tanya, Tremor, and Predator. It remains to be seen if the "Mortal Kombat X" maker will be adding new fighters to the mix.

If Boon's response is any indication, NetherRealm may have already gotten the Story characters' playability covered. If not, perhaps the fans' ardor to see it will be enough to push them to make one. Besides, the studio already brought in the Easy Fatalities pack.

One thing "Mortal Kombat X" fans are assured of is that they will get a free costume with every patch being released for the game.
