NetherRealm Studios continues to tease fans with expansion content for "Mortal Kombat X." While there is no confirmation yet of "Kombat Pack 3," players expect that the new content will include more fighters for the game.

According to speculations, since the previous two "Kombat Pack" DLC added a mix of classic and out-of-franchise characters, "Kombat Pack 3" is also expected to come out with veteran Kombatants for "Mortal Kombat X." Some of the favorite fighters that fans agree will be suitable for the next round include Baraka, Rain, Sindel, and Noob Saibot. Some of the characters have already been included in the second pack's update, though only as non-playable characters and transition teasers.

Developer NetherRealm Studios has yet to officially confirm an upcoming expansion for "Mortal Kombat X." However, one of the studio executives, Ed Boon, continue to tease fans with "Kombat Pack 3." Just recently, Boon made an unofficial poll for fans, and an overwhelming number of them agree that a new "Kombat Pack" is much preferred over a new game installment.

However, it remains to be seen if "Kombat Pack 3" will make it to a late 2016 release. According to Yibada, Boon has admitted that expanding "Mortal Kombat X" is overlapping with their other projects, most notably another big-name IP – the "Injustice 2" sequel. However, since "Injustice 2" is more likely to release in the later half next year, "Kombat Pack 3" may launch at the early months of 2017 instead.

Meanwhile, although NetherRealm Studios may be working on an expansion, the studio is also hard at work in improving "Mortal Kombat X." Reportedly, the new game edition, "Mortal Kombat XL," is on its way to the PC. The developer has already finished an open beta for the game, and a full version may soon follow.
