NetherRealm Studios and Warner Bros. Entertainment have confirmed their big plans for "Mortal Kombat X," including the release of four new characters as part of downloadable content (DLC).

Apart from the new playable characters, the new content will also contain new skins for current characters in the lineup and new environments for players to enjoy.

There is no announcement on the specific release date, but according to IGN, the DLC should arrive in the first half of 2016.

Warner Bros. has yet to reveal the new faces for the game, but an image coming from NetherRealm Creative
Director Ed Boon teased a silhouette of the upcoming characters, as reported in GameSpot.

There are no hints yet as to who these characters will be, but other reports have their own speculations. For instance, GameSpot mentioned that one silhouette even appeared like Wolverine.

In a report from iDigitalTimes, it was also mentioned that many people guessed that one of the four characters could be Nightwolf, since Boon's recent tweets involve pictures of a moon.

Fans will just have to wait for the creative director's announcement, as he is likely to take the news to Twitter.

As for the pricing, Warner Bros. has not revealed any details on the subject yet; but the first pack for "Mortal Kombat X," which featured four characters, namely Predator, Tremor, Tanya, and Jason Voorhees, was priced at $30.

Meanwhile, in another "Mortal Kombat X" news, it was reported that the game was cancelled for Xbox 360 and PlayStation 3 (PS3) after a series of delays.

According to a community post, as reported by VG247, the company was regretful that the game did not meet the quality standards required for the aforementioned platforms.

Warner Bros. even apologized that it wasn't able to provide the products as they had initially planned.

"Mortal Kombat X" is playable on PS4, Xbox One, and personal computer (PC).
